The line's too ratty, my hands hurt, I couldn't get my cat to walk the picket fence backward and I was trying to train it. That's why I'm late.

Big Changes Coming!
We're going to be retooling this website as deckskills.org, so rather than take the whole site down at once (likely for a few weeks), if you can't access a page, link, etc. try replacing the .com in the address bar with .org. We're trying to re-work the system for everybody's benefit, thanks for your patience.

Recently Added!

Welcome to Fantail Freddy's Guide to Seamen!
This site was originally created to help cadets at California Maritime Academy learn how to become a Deck Officer. Lately we noticed that we've been getting a number of hits from actual mariners, some from as far away as Denmark. So, we decided to split the site into a Cadets and a Professional site.
This is the Cadet site. If you need to learn how Navigate, use a Radar, calculate Stability, Study for Deck Skills tests, etc., hopefully we can help. Good luck!

Additional Resources

USCGQ.COM has practice tests and pulls from the USCG questions just like LapWare does, except it's free.

CMA.USCGQ.COM has practice tests for the Deck Skills program at CMA, so if you've got a test coming up, this is where we'll pull the questions from, couldn't hurt to know the answers.

A great resource for mariners, with maritime news updates, job postings, and extra tools and resources, all available for free.

In short, there is stuff out there that's free, and hopefully more on the way.

Holy Heck Calmaritime.net!
So if you guys haven't checked it out, calmaritime.net is a sweet alternative to the csum.edu site, as in it's actually laid out so that it makes sense. Not only that, but the crazy dude behind that site has now created 2 more: USCGQ.COM and CMA.USCGQ.COM.

In short, we all owe a thanks to the crazy dude over at CalMaritime.net, he just made our lives easier and cheaper. Thanks bud.
